We welcome back Alison after a challenging time for her in 2020. She joined the Bruce Pulman Park family in 2015 and had been a coach for 15 years. Alison was forced to take time off in 2020 when she developed a serious eye infection which led to her losing her sight. She was in hospital for a total of 12 weeks throughout 2020. A recent corneal transplant gave her some sight back in her left eye. This has allowed her to return to coaching. We are very happy to have Alison back and she is already hitting her strides.
Alison was a competitive gymnast in the UK. Prior to coaching, she started Trampolining at the age of four, first competed at seven, and continued until she was 26. During the time, she had also mixed it up with dance lessons and playing netball and hockey.
When asked about the best thing since returning to coach, Alison said, “being surrounded by people, back at work again and getting to coach fun happy gymnasts who just want to improve their trampolining skills”. She also said that her greatest achievement to date is “helping gymnasts progress to represent New Zealand in Trampoline and DMT (Double Mini-Trampoline)”. A personal achievement for her has been passing her International Judge course and Judging in the UK, Portugal and Australia.
"I would just like to say a huge thank you to Bruce Pulman Park. The support over the past year has been fantastic and had kept me going. I love working here as a coach, it has a great community feel and I enjoy being part of the team".
